How do I wash my washable doormat?

To wash your doormats, it’s crucial to use the right cleaning methods.

One option is to machine wash the mat on a gentle 30 degrees Celsius cycle. Whether using a domestic or commercial washing machine, it’s essential to ensure that the mat falls within the machine’s maximum weight capacity to prevent any potential damage to the appliance. Additionally, when opting for this method, it’s important to avoid harsh chemicals as they can compromise the design and backing of the doormat. Prior to using any cleaning products, conducting a patch test is highly recommended to mitigate the risk of unintended damage.

Alternatively, using a carpet cleaner provides a thorough and deep-down clean, effectively extracting embedded dirt and grime. However, prior to employing this method, it’s advisable to conduct a patch test to guarantee that the cleaner won’t adversely affect the mat.

For a more practical and cost-effective approach, hosing down the mat can often be the most feasible option. This method not only proves to be the easiest, but it’s also particularly effective in removing dirt, especially when the mat is heavily soiled. In such cases, hosing down the mat before placing it in the washing machine can aid in effectively eliminating stubborn dirt and grime.

How do I dry my washable doormat once it’s washed?

To properly dry your wash mat, it’s important to find a suitable flat surface. Placing it on a solid surface can impede the wicking of moisture, so opt for a flat area like a grill where the air can circulate. Ensuring that the mat is laid completely flat is crucial, as this will prevent any potential kinks or folds from developing as it dries. Additionally, refrain from using a tumble dryer, as the heat can potentially cause damage to the backing of the mat. Once the mat is fully dry, you can simply lay it back in place, all ready for use again.

What is the best way to keep my doormat clean?

To keep your doormat clean and well-maintained, it’s essential to establish a regular cleaning routine. Start by shaking out your doormat at least once a week to effectively remove accumulated dust and dirt. A vigorous shaking will prevent these particles from being tracked into your home, helping to maintain a cleaner indoor environment. Additionally, you can use a broom to gently bang the mat, further dislodging dirt and debris. In addition to shaking, it’s advisable to vacuum the doormat to ensure thorough cleanliness.

For a more comprehensive cleaning, schedule a monthly vacuuming session will help eliminate all embedded dirt. If you notice any unusual odours coming from the doormat, consider using baking soda to neutralise and eliminate the odours. Simply sprinkle baking soda onto the doormat and allow it to sit for ten minutes. After this period, use a brush to work the baking soda into the fibres, allowing it to absorb any lingering odours. After a few minutes, proceed to vacuum the doormat, ensuring that the baking soda and any absorbed odours are completely removed.

For more heavily soiled doormats, consider using a machine wash for a deeper clean. Depending on the level of dirt and grime, a periodic rinsing or machine wash every few months can effectively reset the doormat, ensuring it remains in top condition.

Can you make them custom sized?

Unfortunately, we cannot create our wash mats in custom sizes as we order them in from our suppliers already made and they are only available in the set sizes on our website.

Can I cut my wash mat?

If the standard sizes are not quite right, you could trim these door mats to size, as long as they do not have a rubber border. However, we wouldn’t recommend doing this unless necessary, as it may caused the trimmed edge to be more fluffy than the others and can result in a slight uneven appearance and texture.

What size mats are available?

We offer a diverse selection of sizes to accommodate various needs. Whether you require a solution for a small doorway or large patio doors and runners, we have you covered. Our range encompasses a comprehensive array of options, ensuring that you can find the perfect fit for your specific requirements. You can find each doormat size on each product page.

What is the backing made out of on the washable doormats?

The materials are carefully selected to offer both flexibility and durability. Whether it’s rubber, latex, microflex, or eco-friendly EVO back ™ TPR backing, each option is chosen for its quality and performance.
