Synthetic Coir Matting
Cut-to-Size Woven Style Synthetic Coir Matting
Our cut-to-size woven style synthetic coir matting is an excellent choice for those seeking an alternative to natural coir matting. This matting provides the appearance of natural coir while offering different characteristics, making it a versatile option for various needs. One of its key advantages is its non-shedding nature, due to the needle felt and woven fibres. Unlike natural coir matting, our synthetic option does not shed, resulting in a lower maintenance mat that retains its quality over time. This matting provides a durable and aesthetically pleasing solution, ideal for those looking for both practicality and style.
Made from 100% polypropylene, the matting is durable and suitable for heavy domestic use. Polypropylene is renowned for its toughness, resistance, and lightweight nature, making it an ideal choice for various uses. In addition to these properties, the matting is antistatic and antibacterial, providing a hygienic and safe environment. The use of polypropylene also lends the matting stain-resistant qualities, adding to its functionality and ease of maintenance. With these beneficial attributes, the matting offers a versatile solution for various domestic and potentially commercial settings.
This matting is designed with indoor use in mind and it’s important to note that it may not withstand outdoor conditions or prolonged exposure to standing water. When used indoors, the matting offers reliable performance and durability. However, exposing it to outdoor elements and allowing it to come into contact with standing water can lead to problems such as backing disintegration and the synthetic fibres separating from the backing. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure that this matting is used in suitable indoor environments to maintain its quality and functionality.
Our woven synthetic coir matting has a hard rubber backing. The rubber backing makes the matting ideal for various applications, whether it’s for residential or commercial use. With the ability to cut the matting to size using a simple utility knife, you have the freedom to create a perfect fit for any space or project.
To clean the matting, we recommend regularly shaking it outside or vacuuming it. If it is heavily soiled and needs a better clean, you can hose it down. Just make sure it is fully dried before you lay it back down, as the backing can start to disintegrate or go mouldy if it’s not thoroughly dried. It’s also a good idea to spot clean any specific stains with a mild detergent or carpet cleaner. Just make sure you do a patch test first. Additionally, you can consider using a carpet brush to help remove stubborn dirt and debris. By adopting these cleaning methods, you can maintain the quality and appearance of your matting for an extended period, ensuring that it continues to serve its purpose effectively.
Regularly rotating your mat ensures that it wears evenly, preventing any specific area from becoming overly worn. This simple maintenance tip can significantly prolong the life of your mat, keeping it looking fresh and reducing the need for replacement. Additionally, by lifting and cleaning underneath the mat, you can prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris, which not only helps to maintain the cleanliness of your matting but also preserves the integrity of the backing, ultimately contributing to its longevity.

How We Cut Your Synthetic Coir Matting
To cut your custom sized synthetic coir doormat, we use large rolls of matting. They are approximately 12 metres x 2 metres. This allows us to cater to a wide range of sizes and dimensions. We take great care in our cutting process. We start by cutting the matting from the roll in a slightly larger size than that needed. Then, we trim it to your specific dimensions by hand with a Stanley knife using a 90-degree metal square. When it comes to synthetic coir matting, all cuts will feature square corners and raw edges.
How to Order a Custom Size Synthetic Coir Mat
To order your custom sized synthetic coir doormat you need to select a matting colour (if required). Once you have chosen a colour, enter your required dimensions in the fields provided.

Advice and Tips for Ordering Your Cut-to-Size Synthetic Coir Mat
Tip 1: When making a purchase of a mat for a mat well, taking accurate measurements of the well’s dimensions is crucial. Discrepancies in widths or lengths can occur in different places in the well. Make sure to measure in multiple areas. Inaccurately measuring the well may result in an ill-fitting mat. To mitigate this, you can err on the side of caution and opt for a slightly larger size when placing your order. In the event of any excess matting, use a Stanley knife to trim the mat to a precise fit, ensuring optimal coverage and functionality.
Tip 2: The key consideration when choosing the thickness of your doormat is to ensure that it allows for sufficient door clearance. If the doormat is too thick, it could potentially hinder the opening and closing of your door. Therefore, when making your selection, be mindful of this potential issue. It can avoid any inconvenience or restrictions in the functionality of your doorway.
Tip 3: All sizes are +/-3mm tolerance.
